The BB 67400 is a series of 232 diesel-electric locomotives built for SNCF by Brissonneau et Lotz (BL) and Matériel de traction électrique (MTE). They were ordered on January 6, 1967, and the first was put into service on August 14, 1969 at the Chambéry depot.
These locomotives are suitable for multiple-unit (MU) operation with machines in the same series and in the 67300 series, as well as for reversible operation on passenger trains. They are derived from the BB 67000.
