The CC 65000 is a series of twenty diesel-electric locomotives ordered by SNCF on February 1, 1955.

Along with the CC 65500, they were the first French-built "mainline" diesel locomotives, designed for mixed freight and passenger service. The first of these was delivered to the La Rochelle-Bongraine depot in December 1956. These locomotives were mainly used on the Nantes - Bordeaux transverse line and its associated branch lines. When they were delivered in the late 1970s, they were at the head of freight and passenger trains. Subsequently, their activity was reduced to pulling freight trains, often in multiple units.

The series was withdrawn from service between 1981 and 1988, but two examples were preserved: CC 65001 at the Cité du train in Mulhouse and CC 65005 by the Train des mouettes (in 2022, parked for restoration in Saintes).
